Is kitty litter/urine/litter box toxic to humans?
My wife and I have heard two different things on this. We have had indoor cats for a few years and are thinking about having children. She wants the cats gone because she says that kitty litter/urine is toxic to babies/humans. And all that I have heard is that the clumpable kitty litter is toxic to cats because of the sodium bentonite and the clay dust that gets into their lungs.
Can anyone help us with this? We would appreciate any and all feedback that you have concerning this matter. Also please include any links to websites if you have any.

No but it can bring some effects on pregnant women.That’s what I read in the newspaper.But,my family and I kept 4 cats since 7 years ago.In that period,my mother got pregnant and gave a birth to my little brother.Until today,it seems that I’ve got no problem about this and my little brother is healthy like the others.So to me,it’s not dangerous to humans.But just don’t forget to clean up the litter everyday.
